Shift schedule and pay
Enter shifts for an accounting period to see work, night and public holiday hours, rest between shifts and an indicative gross pay estimate.
Rules and sources
Select your employer’s full accounting period. With summarised accounting, overtime is established at its end; extra hours in one month may balance fewer hours in the next.
Full time is 40 hours a week. For half time enter 20. The norm uses a five-day calendar; use manual entry for a special norm.
23 February, 22 June, 23 and 31 December: a reduction of up to three hours. With summarised accounting, dates follow the start of entered shifts. Also select a day you were scheduled to work, including during absence. The reduction is not prorated by workload.
Without a confirmed schedule, calendar working hours are deducted. Otherwise enter the hours you were scheduled to work on these dates; scheduled days off give 0. Adjust manually for child leave (lapsepuhkus) or other special rules. Enter only actual or planned work that you will perform in the shifts.
Enter period salary before absences. Base pay is reduced in proportion to the norm reduction; leave pay and benefits are not added. This is an hourly estimate; your employer’s calculation may differ.
Check uninterrupted weekly rest separately against the full schedule: in each seven-day period it should generally be at least 36 hours under summarised working time or 48 hours under ordinary accounting. From 13 February 2026 daily rest is included in that period rather than added to it.
Saturday and Sunday do not by themselves trigger a statutory premium: under a shift schedule they may be ordinary working days. Night, public holiday and overtime hours are assessed separately.
Public holidays are identified automatically by date; holiday hours count only within entered shifts. Easter and related holidays are calculated from the calendar.
Estimate for adult workers under general Estonian rules. After 31.12.2026 it applies the checked rules of the published version effective from 01.01.2027; later changes may be unaccounted for. Absences change the norm and indicative base pay; leave pay and benefits are not added. Excludes occupation specific rules, time off agreements for night or holiday work, tax and net pay. Overtime is assigned to the last hours of the period to estimate overlapping supplements.
