About the project · Made for life in Estonia
Everyday questions.
Clear calculations.
It started with calculators for the family. It grew into Arvutused.ee — a place where it's convenient to calculate for life, work and study.
Personal story
How much is left from your salary after taxes? How good is a discount? What size does clothing in another store correspond to? How much will a purchase cost in another currency?
In our family, these questions came up constantly — at home, at work, while studying and shopping. I wanted convenient calculators at hand that are easy to open on a phone or tablet: with clear fields, an explanation of the result, and without intrusive ads.
That's how Arvutused.ee came to be. At first I built it for family and friends, then decided to open it to everyone who might find it useful too.
It matters to me that every number has a clear meaning behind it: what we're calculating, what data is needed, and where the result has limitations.
One country · Different native languages
For those whose life is connected to Estonia
Arvutused.ee was created primarily for life in Estonia. It brings together everyday calculators, while calculations related to taxes, benefits and other local rules follow Estonian legislation within the specified period and supported conditions.
At the same time, Estonia is home to people with different native languages. Some have lived here since birth, some came to work or study, some were forced to leave their own country, and some are only just getting to know ours.
I wanted the calculators to be convenient for everyone, so they're available in Estonian, English, Russian and Ukrainian. The same calculation rules apply in every language version.

AI helps build it
ChatGPT, Claude and local language models in LM Studio help me with development. This approach is often called vibe coding: an idea can gradually turn into a working tool by discussing tasks with AI, checking the result and refining details. Choosing features, verifying calculations and deciding what gets published remain up to me.
Rules have a date
Calculations tied to legislation depend on official sources and the period during which the rules apply. The project has a mechanism in place for tracking changes and preparing updates for review.
New revisions require review before publication. More about how we verify calculations.
Comfortable for your eyes
You can choose a light or dark theme and one of three colour palettes: green, brown or blue.
Adjust the look using the buttons at the top of the page. If you'd like to keep your choice for your next visit, turn on "Remember" at the bottom of the site.
Start with something simple
What shall we calculate today?
And if something is missing or you've spotted an error — write to me. Your suggestions will help make the site more useful.
