Ovulation estimate: How we calculate

How we calculate

Estimated ovulation is on cycle day (cycle length − 14), counting the first period day as day 1. The window starts five days before and ends one day after that estimate. The calculator supports regular cycles of 21–35 whole days.

Calendar predictions may differ from actual ovulation, particularly for irregular cycles. Do not use this as contraception.

Worked example

A regular 28-day cycle starts on 01.10.2026. The model gives ovulation on 14.10.2026, a fertile window of 09.10.2026–15.10.2026 and the next period starting on 29.10.2026. These are calendar assumptions and must not be used as contraception.
