Choose the benefit type — the reference period, dates and available days differ.

Mother’s benefitNormally, an employed mother has up to 100 days based on the expected birth date, and a mother without an employment relationship has 30 days from birth. From 1 October 2026 there is a separate prenatal case when she has no temporary-incapacity benefit entitlement and the other parent has died or a missing-person location proceeding has begun. SKA verifies entitlement.
Father’s benefit30 days, usable from 30 days before the expected birth until the child turns three. The days cannot be transferred.
Shared benefitThe recipient may change by calendar month. SKA determines the final number of days after accounting for used mother’s-benefit days.

SKA is Sotsiaalkindlustusamet, the Social Insurance Board. If it has already determined your monthly benefit before tax, enter that amount as the known basis. Otherwise choose reference-period income to calculate the basis from income and incapacity days.
