Date difference: How we calculate
How we calculate
We count UTC calendar dates rather than elapsed hours. The end date may be included. Holidays and business days are not distinguished.
Example: including the end date changes the count
The start date is 02.10.2026 and the end date is 07.10.2026. Five calendar days have elapsed between them. Including the end date gives six days. Identical start and end dates give zero or one day respectively.
Calendar days, not working days
Weekends and holidays are not excluded. Dates are compared as UTC calendar dates, so time of day and daylight-saving changes do not add or remove a day. The result alone does not determine a statutory or contractual deadline; the rules for the particular deadline need a separate check.
